"One in a Melon" Birthday Party
At Not So Crafty Mama, we love creating personalized experiences for our loved ones. For my daughter's first birthday, we went all out with a themed party - 'ONE in Melon'. We had so much fun putting together decorations and activities. Check out our gallery below to see how we brought the theme to life!

Wood Painted "ONE" Letters
I saw this on Pinterest and had to try it out! I bought these letters from Michaels Craft Store (can also use these letters on Amazon) and bought green, red, black and white paint. I always started with the darker layer and would add a little bit of white each time I worked my way up the letter. Once completely dried I hand painted the black seeds on.

Balloon Garland
If you have seen my other pages you can probably tell that I LOVE a good balloon garland! I have so much fun putting them together and unlike the Minnie Mouse garland, this one turned out so good! I have linked the balloons I used for this one below.

"Watermelon" Stand
If you saw this first on the Minnie Mouse page, this is where the Lemonade Stand started! We made this specifically for this party but we continue to get a lot of use out it still! We used it as a "Watermelon" stand and I made a fabric garland to hang. I made this with different fabric from Hobby Lobby and cut them all in 1" strips and tied it to twine that I already had. This super cute accent might be the cheapest craft you can make and it adds so much!

For the "Watermelon" sign on top, I used Design Space. Add text to a new project and find a font you love. It's hard to see in this picture but the black dots on the sides of the letters are actually hearts. Add a sheart shape to design space and size them as you want, select both the letter and heart and slice the images. you will have to do one heart at a time. Then, for example the W, you will have the red layer and the black letter the same size so that the black shows through the sliced images. Use the "Offset" feature to add two more layers behind it.
