What You Will Need:

  • Cricut Machine

  • Cricut sticky mat

  • Cardstock

  • Foam tape

  • Hot glue

  • Glue (I used Bearly Glue)

  • Half pearls (optional)

  • String of any kind

Instructions:

  1. Start with your front image, with this one I took a palm leaf I drew on ProCreate and uploaded to Design Space. They also have a lot of great options in Cricut Access. Then make a duplicate and slide it off center just a bit so you can see both and make the back one a darker/different color.

  2. Take your back image of the palm leaf and click "Offset" in Design space and choose the size of your offset image. You should now have 3 images. On that offset image, you want to slice two circles towards the top to put the string through to hang.

  3. Find a flower you like either in Design Space/Cricut Access, draw one yourself, or find one on Google to use. The one I drew has two layers, the front I used pink and the back I used yellow that it shows through the middle. Then I have the middle of stem looking thing on the top (not sure what that is called...)

  4. Group all images together and duplicate them until you have enough letters for whatever word/phrase you are putting together.

  5. Find a font you like, I found one online and installed it on my computer. Once you find one you like, click "offset" and choose the size you like. do these for each letter and place on top of each leaf, or whatever image you created.

  6. Cut out all images on Cricut Machine.

  7. When gluing the leaves, I put foam tape in between the first 3 layers to give it depth. I used Bearly Glue to glue the letter and that offset together, then used foam tape between the letter and the leaf to make it pop out.

  8. I added the flowers by just hot gluing them to the top of the leaf just to make sure it doesn't fall off. To give the flower a little something extra I found half pearls at Michaels and glued them in the middle to hide the glue marks.

  9. Once all of the leaves are completed with all of the design elements glued on you can string the leaves together through the holes that you created on the back image ("offset image of the leaf, see here) and your done!!
